My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

09 July 2024 Blog 223 Jack’s Sick and Territorial Charlie

The boys have been doing okay this week so far. The usual shenanigans! Fighting, chasing each other, scratching my carpet, watching the squirrels on the feeders (from inside the house), sleeping and giving me lots of cuddles! Not such a good day for Jack yesterday as he was a bit under the weather. He was fine in the morning and ate his breakfast, lots of biscuits and a bit of Sheba at lunchtime (he normally does not each much then.) Then about 12.30 I heard this horrible yowl and I knew that meant ‘Mummy I don’t feel well.’ I went to the hallway and Jack was wretching and then threw up two meals worth of food, some grass and two big hairballs! It was absolutely revolting! I nearly threw up as well! I have told him not to eat the grass in the garden as it seems to cause these vomiting episodes (Leo has had them as well.) I think he felt a lot better though getting rid of all that food which was sat in his stomach for hours. Cleaning it up was vile but managed to do it as quick as poss before the other boys were sniffing round it! Jack had a sleep after that, bless him.

Today Charlie went loopy when a neighbour’s cat was in my garden (thankfully we were inside at the time.) It was a gray and white one who boyfriend thinks was having a nasty loud cat fight on his drive on Saturday night. I did not know what was up at first. I just heard Charlie yowling so loudly it sounded like he was in pain! Then I looked out the window and saw this cat running off and clambering over my fence. I praised Charlie for being a good guard dog and trying to protect our territory. I wonder what Charlie would have done if he had been outside when he spotted the intruder cat….
