Here are some example recommendations from my experiences.
Grooming
I used a few different brushes but this was the best. I would avoid the ‘raking’ type brushes as I have been advised they can ruin their silky fur:
Grooming brush for medium to long haired cats
The self-cleaning slicker type brushes I think work the best.
Litter Boxes
At first I used smaller trays when my fluffsters were babies and transitioned to medium and large trays as they got older and bigger!
Plastic litter trays (small)
Plastic Medium size litter tray
Plastic Large litter tray
Litter Locker
Litter Locker Cassettes
Litter Scoops
Collars and Harnesses
I went through a few of these as I had bought smaller ones when they were little then bigger ones when they got older. I tried the velcro versions but I didn’t get on with them as they got stuck in their fur! These are what I use now but check the sizing before you buy. I preferred the Trixie harness and they usually come with a lead in a set.
Cat harnesses
Cat leads/leashes
Food Bowls and Water
There are many different choices. I recommend metal, ceramic or hard plastic so it is easy to keep clean and dishwasher safe. Needs to be sturdy to withstand them knocking it over and pushing it when they eating enthusiastically! The types that have little feet on the bottom are good to stabilise it. You can also get bowls that are raised slightly to help with regurgitation and you can get ‘slow feeder’ bowls which can help with this.
Food Stainless Steel Bowls
Food Ceramic Bowls
Food Hard Plastic Non-slip Bowls
Water Fountain (I found my boys preferred drinking from this, or in the shower!)
Cat Carriers
Definitely check the sizing before you buy and take into consideration the fact they will grow and consider the weight especially when you have two!
Soft collapsible cat carrier
Hard plastic cat carrier
Extra large cat carrier
Cat Trees
Jack and Tom on their tree
There are many websites selling cat trees and these are some of the ones I recommend having a look at:
Cat Tree UK- they have a lot of product choice and designs and you can find a suitable tree for the type of cat you have. Good choice for large cats and good quality.
Wayfair- I just bought my second cat tree from here. they have a reasonable choice and reasonable prices.
ManoMano- again they have good choices and I did consider one from there until I found the right one on Wayfair.
There is also The Range and Ebay that have a lot of choices and varying prices.
Other pet websites such as Pets at Home and Zooplus also have a reasonable range but I struggled to find large cat trees of there for my boys.
Scratching Posts
You need quite a few around your house to reduce the risk of the cats scratching your furniture. There come in varying sizes and styles. Types with dangly toys hanging from them are quite good. There will likely wear over time but so far the three I got from Pets at Home have lasted quite well.
Beds
Jack and Tom like mum’s bed!
Some bed ideas check out:
Pet at Home
Zooplus
Amazon
They all have a good selection. Note however, your Raggies may just decide on their own sleeping spots and ignore the beds you bought for them so I would not rush out a buy anyway straight away.
Toys
Yes they have a lot of them.
