My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

23 Aug Blog Post 235 Comic Con Day (which was Sunday 11th Aug 2024)

Last weekend (10-11th August) was sci-fi and comic con weekend. Me and boyfriend had a sci-fi theme night on Saturday, we love these theme nights! I had painted some sci-fi posters and decorated with balloons. We had a buffet tea and I had tidied my work off the big table and laid it all neatly for us. The boys knew something was up when I was tidying and moving things. As soon as the table was clear they all jumped up onto it and walking all over it. I did manage to get it looking nice but they would not stop walking about amongst the plates, cutlery and glasses nearly knocking them over. Its good that boyfriend it used to sharing the dinner table with the boys! They were a bit better behaved when we actually sat down and ate the food and managed to keep them off for the most part. I had a multi-coloured light on for some atmosphere and they enjoyed staring at the coloured lights on the ceiling.

Also, I had put some of my sci-fi memorabilia on the table, one of which was a big cuddly tribble. (I had to explain to boyfriend what a tribble is!) and it has a little sound box inside and when you turn it on it makes the chirping noise that the Star Trek tribbles made. The boys were fascinated by it especially Leo. The tribble kept going off randomly as any vibration would set it off. Leo tried to carry it off a few times but it was too big and heavy for him!

On the Sunday we went to a comic-con which was local. It was quite small but there was a few interesting stalls there and people in costumes. I ended up buying quite a lot (and bought stuff from the tourist shops in the town we were at.) I felt really guilty leaving the boys all day at home so I dutifully got my boys a little cat toy each. They were all catnip toys. One was an owl which kept making chirping noises every time it was bumped about in the bag which boyfriend was carrying! The boys did not seem that excited with their new toys as usual. They sniffed at the cat nip mice and the owl and I waved the feather teaser for Leo. I think they were all hot and tired that day so by the time we got home to them they were too lazy to do very much. It was a good weekend and we enjoyed it. We will do it again next year hopefully.
