My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

20  September 2024 Blog Post 242 Lots of Whining

The boys were driving me nuts yesterday. I don’t know why but all of them were whiny at some point during the day and all were wanting play, food and fuss when I was trying to work. I don’t mind playing with them or cuddling them but they always seem to want it at inopportune times like when I am on the phone to a client or typing an urgent email or a letter. Jack was especially bad yesterday, although I think it was in part due to the fact he had a bit of ‘runny bum’ again and tummy upset. He has the cat equivalent of IBS so he gets these short lived diarrhoea episodes every couple of months bless him. I had a meeting late afternoon yesterday on Teams and Jack spent most of the meeting in the hallway yowling at the top of his lungs. I had to apologise to my colleague for my noisy, needy cat. She has a needy dog so she did not mind. Then afterwards I still had an urgent letter to type and they were still bothering me. I had Tom on the table right next to the laptop, Leo was by the patio door scratching at it as he wanted to go out and chase the squirrel, Jack was curled up on my office chair so I was sat on the dining room chair. Then Charlie jumps up onto my back and then starts clawing at me and chewing my hair! I knew it was getting close to their dinner time but it was still another hour away. I told him no and to stop hurting me, not that it did much good. He eventually got bored and jumped off. The other thing that was amusing was I have downloaded this Google extension for my laptop called Meow and it is a little AI cat that walks across your screen and you can pet it, feed it and play with it et cetera. In the afternoon when I was working, Jack was sat on my office chair and he was watching this little computer cat walking across my screen from time to time. It was so cute. The AI cat (called Timmy) is much easier to look after than my boys, and if you get fed up with it you can click on ‘hide for two hours.’ Shame I can’t do that with my boys! Lol.
