My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three
27th September 2024 Blog Post 244 Fell out with Jack
I am trying to write this with Tommy in my arms nuzzling me. He is in a funny mood this afternoon and has been wowing/yowling at me for the last hour and I don’t know what he wants! I have cuddled him and fussed him. I played in the bath with him for a while. He likes me to turn on the tap, put the plug in and fill it with some water and he loves watching the little bubbles and ripples in the water. He makes these excited little squeaks when he sees a bubble. I always turn the tap off when the water gets near his paws as he does like to sit in the water. Ragdoll’s love of water is a funny trait they have. Even Jack got in the bath to have a look as well until he got wet feet and then jumped out!
This week I have been busy with work but still make time for my boys. I had a falling out with Jack on Tuesday. I was aiming to leave early as I had a 45 min drive for my work (about 7AM) so the boys would have a bit shorter time in the garden and I needed to get them all in before 7. Jack did his usual trick of jumping up on the shelf in the catio. I got the others in at 6.30 but Jack was still on the shelf. I left him there while I brushed the other boys and got sorted for leaving with all my bags et cetera. Then I went out to the catio to get Jack in. He wouldn’t budge! I asked him very nicely to get down so I could get him in but he was having none of it. I was running out of time now so I got really cross and shouted at him to come down. I then stood on a garden chair and tried to manhandle him down from the shelf. It turned into a horrible battle with him growling and yowling and wriggling out of my grasp. I was getting sweaty and frustrated. I also felt really bad as I know it is not very nice for him having me grab him and pull him et cetera. In the end I pleaded with him to go onto the box so I could pick him up and take him in. After some growling he did eventually go on the box and then onto the bench below. I think he was so cross with me that he wanted to run away from me but thankfully he headed for the patio door so I let him in. I was then in a rush so I said goodbye to them all and went off to work. Boyfriend fed them at lunch time and said they were all okay, no different to usual. When I got home I cuddled them all and said I loved them. Jack had forgiven me by then and let me cuddle him. Just hope I don’t have to do that again!
