My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

8 Oct 2024 Blog Post 250 Cat Grass

Jack has been fine since the medical drama of last weekend. Leo is fine too. I gave them their medicine till it was finished (which was a daily battle and glad that’s over with!)
Now onto a different topic. I have grown them some cat grass. Ordered it online and the advert said it came with a planter but that was a lie. I just got the compost stuff and the seeds! So I ordered the planter. I sowed the seeds a couple of weeks ago and they started growing in a few days. Now they are about 10 cm tall. I ‘found’ some little plant pots so I have grown some more pots of cat grass in those. They are also growing really fast now. I let the boys start on them about a week ago. The moment I put out the cat grass for them in the kitchen they were straight in there chewing on it. Mainly Leo and Jack. Tom and Charlie don’t seem bothered with it. Unfortunately, Leo tends to pull the grass out by its roots which is not what I had intended! There is plenty more though so it doesn’t really matter. Leo (I think) threw up some of the grass last saturday, I found a pile of grass sick on the floor. again, not what I had intended but they say it is good for their gut. I think it helps get rid of hairballs as well. They don’t seem to be actually eating it most of the time, they just nibble at it or pull it out and then leave it on the floor. So I have been spending time picking up bits of grass off the floor! I think overall it was a good purchase as at least it is something new for them to play with and makes their indoor environment a bit more interesting.
