My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

04 Nov 2024 Blog Post 255 Different Flavours

I have finally got the boys onto different flavours of Sheba now. For the last two years it has been fish only and until last year it was only fish in jelly. I had tried them on fish in gravy in 2022 and they did not seem to like it. But when I got some by accident last year and tried them all with it they yummed it up! Also, I was sure that Jack and Tom did not like chicken flavours. I was too apprehensive to try them on beef, duck etc as when Tom and Jack were younger we tried these flavours and it gave them upset tummies. However, I have noticed as they have got older they can tolerate trying different types of cat food and flavours. All except Jack as he has cat IBS!

Anyway, I accidentally got some Sheba fine flakes in gravy, poultry flavours and beef. I decided to try it out with a little portion for each of them. To my surprise they all scoffed the lot including Jack. When I was certain there were no upset tummies the next day I gave them some again and from then on I have been buying Sheba poultry, beef, duck and the usual fish. I think they were getting bored of the fish and wanted to have some variety. Jack is still the one who eats the least of the wet food, preferring dry food. Charlie does not have as big an appetite as he used to when he was a kitten. Tom has a good appetite but needs to eat quick before Leo gets his lol. Leo just wants to eat everybodies! I am dreading the annual weigh in next year when we see the vet for their vaccinations! I am still giving them a few kitten biscuits as well, mainly  because I want Jack to put on some weight as he is still on the lean side. Leo gobbles them up like sweets though so I need to be careful how much I put out! And there are the Dreamies as well…..
