My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

9th Feb Blog Post 183 Leaping Leo

Leo is getting more and more clever and nimble. I had two of my wheelie bins up against my wobbly fence to brace it from the windy weather we had last month. I also put my garden bench in front of the bins. I had not thought about the fact that it was a useful platform for wily cats to jump up to the fence. Charlie often jumps on the bench and looks at the wheelie bins but he had not made a move to jump on the bins. Yesterday it was Leo’s turn to jump on the bench and straightaway he was looking at the bins. Thankfully as I kept a watchful eye on them I noticed he was looking and I could read his mind! I knew he was sizing up the jump from the bench to the bins and then to the fence! I ran over to him and told him ‘No!’ I put my hand on his back to stop him from jumping. He looked at me guiltily as he knew he was not supposed to be trying to get over the fence! I ended up picking him up and bringing him in as it scared me that he was intent on a great escape. I brought the rest of them in as well. They were all muddy and wet and got dirty paw marks all over the floor as usual.

Later on I asked boyfriend to move the bins back outside the gate and the bench back to its previous spot on the patio under the kitchen window. I wonder what Leo’s next trick is going to be?
