My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

7th June May Blog 215 Battle of Wills

No more trying to jump this fence from our nimble Leo. I got such a nasty scare last week and I am determined now to keep him as secure as possible in my garden without actually denying him outside exposure which I don’t want to do. It has certainly been a battle of wills though. I put his harness and lead on every walk now (he is miffed about it, especially as the others don’t wear one!) He seems to know that I am trying to stop him escaping again. I now pack my breakfast into a lunch bag and take my big travel mug of tea out into the garden with a towel to sit on. Then I can keep watch the entire time we are all outside. He has tried a few times to get himself in that corner next to the fence ready to jump but I am always nearby. I have even ended up standing in front of him with the fence behind me making doubly sure he  won’t try a jump. He has been yowling at me a lot as he cross! He really wants to go and have a look at the neighbours garden. The others make do with peeping through the gaps in the fence. I think, however, Leo is now thinking about tunnelling his way out. There is a few little gap in the fence and he has been digging at these and putting his paw into the gaps. I think he hopes he can squeeze and wriggle himself under it! Either way, it is futile as I will be there to stop him whatever mischief he comes up with this time!
