15 July 2024 Blog 225 More Throw up

We had another couple of sickness episodes yesterday, last night and this morning. I got woken up at 3AM by Charlie throwing up on the carpet in the bedroom. I sleep with earplugs in to block out traffic noise and barking dogs et cetera so as a rule, it is not often a noise wakes me up (although I am a fairly light sleeper.) But as a cat mum my ears are tuned in to anxious meows and the sounds of retching (or scraping about in the litter tray.) I really did not want to get out of bed to sort it out but I did not fancy waking up to a vomit stain on my carpet. I forced myself to get out of bed and stumbled to the ensuite to get the baby wipes. Thankfully it was a small blob of grass vomit on the carpet by the ensuite. Easy to clean up. Yesterday afternoon I found a patch of sick on the mat by the patio doors and when I lifted the corner up to wipe it there was a huge hair ball lump under it! Yuck. More cleaning. Not sure who did that one. Even though the grass eating is leading to these random vomit episodes which is unpleasant, if it is helping the boys get rid of cat hair balls then it is a good thing. Then this morning just as I was opening the patio door and getting them all out for their morning run around the garden, I heard a retching again and it was Tom throwing up twice in the hallway. I think it was just because they have been running around after eating and that sometimes leads to throw up. Cats vomit very easily apparently. Nature’s safe-guarding against accidental poisoning. All the boys seem okay now which is a relief. They were all eating grass again though this morning so probably some more puke tomorrow!
