My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Three

01 Nov 2024 Blog Post 254 Cabinets and Drawers

Had a lovely birthday annual leave week. Me and boyfriend have been using the time to organise and tidy as much of my house as we can get done in a week. We have almost finished the upstairs now. During the week we went to a second hand furniture shop. I found the bargain of the century of two cabinets with shelves that were good quality for £20 for both! To save me the delivery charge boyfriend bravely carried them (one at a time) down the stairs from the second floor of the shop to his car and we managed to shove them both in on the back seat and took them home. He put them both in my newly organised ‘Unicorn Room’ which has unicorns of course and also some other soft toys and collectibles. The boys were keeping watch as usual. Leo and Jack were straight in there investigating the cabinets and jumping on the shelves. I am sure they think that anything new I bring into the house is a toy for them!

When I was doing my housework yesterday, I had left the linen drawer under my bed open and forgot about it. Later on it got to lunchtime so I went off to get the boys their lunch and brought it upstairs for them. I gave Tom and Charlie theirs and then I went looking for Leo and Jack. I couldnt find them anywhere. I went around the house a couple of times calling them but to no avail. Then I had a thought. The drawer! So I had a look and there was Leo and Jack together behind the linen drawer underneath my bed! I tried to encourage them out but they just sat there peeping at me. I wasn’t sure whether they were stuck there and couldn’t actually get out by themselves. So I pulled the drawer out off its rollers the other side of the bed (the bed is close to the wall on the right side so I couldn’t take that drawer out). I had then freed them but they did not want to leave their new hiding place. I gave them their lunch in there instead! I asked boyfriend later to help me get the drawer back in as it is so heavy. I will be careful about what drawers I leave open next time! Yesterday I managed to get most of the cat hair off the carpets upstairs. It took me three hours using my new dehairing brush. Back breaking work but it looks a lot better now. Until it gets covered in their fur again and I have to do it all over again!
