My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

3rd Nov Blog Post 158 Birthday and New Cat Tree

It was my 42nd birthday last week. My lovely boyfriend made it a very special day for me and I got lots of thoughtful presents. I think the boys were jealous. They had their heads in the gift bags when I was opening them, hoping something in there was for them.

Day before we went to visit my dad and step-mum and they gave me some nice presents including a new cat tree so it turned out they did have a present! I let boyfriend put it together and it was quite amusing watching him struggle a bit with the screws and the little holes etc. I have built a couple of cat trees myself so I wanted to see how he got on and he did quite well. Took him about 45 minutes. It is a smaller cat tree so I put it in the bedroom near my bed. Boyfriend and me wanted to see whether Jack or Leo would use it instead of sleeping at the bottom of the bed and making it difficult to share my bed with boyfriend! They did not use it much the first night! Leo keeps trying to take Jack’s place on my bed at the moment so Leo slept on boyfriends feet and Jack disappeared at bedtime. I think he went in the spare room. He did reappear in the morning and then sat on the cat tree and glared at boyfriend when he woke up. Clearly he was not happy he had been pushed out of his spot on the bed. The rest of them over the next few days had a sniff of the new tree and jumped on it to try it out. Jack and Tom seem to like it the most. They sit on the top section so they have a good view of me and my bed. Jack and Leo continue to sleep at my feet most nights although there was a night this week that Jack was sleeping on the cat tree (and Tom did last night) so I think they will use it more. Boyfriend is hoping Jack will use the cat tree when he stays over but I am not sure it will be that easy to move him off his space on the bed!
