My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

11th Dec Blog Post 168 Fence Woes

Had a lovely weekend with boyfriend doing shopping and visiting relatives to drop off christmas presents. However, Saturday night it was really windy and one of my fence panels blew down (the same one the blew down two years ago). I found it half way across the garden on Sunday morning! I was then in a dilemma as I did not want to take the boys out with a great big gap where they could run off in to my neighbour’s gardens (and I don’t think she would be too happy with my cats in her garden.) So I used my problem-solving skills and after a lot of tugging and back strain trying to hold up this 6 foot high fence panel and carefully place it back in the gap, leaning against the posts. I then used three of my wheelie bins and placed them in front of it and used two garden chairs to block up the gaps either side. I just hoped it would hold! Then I took the boys out for the walk. They were fascinated of course and were straight over the to the wobbly leaning fence panel and trying to slip the gaps, especially Leo as he is a bit slimmer than the others. I managed to stop them and I told them ‘No, it is not our garden next door, you can’t do in there!’ Eventually they gave up as they couldn’t squeeze through. They did have a look around the rest of the garden for a while but Leo, Charlie and Jack did come back round and sniff around the wheelie bins peeping through to next door. I have booked a friend to come and fix it this Friday. Unfortunately this morning when I got up a gust of wind had knocked it over again and the bins were all on their side. I had to struggle and strain again to get the panel back again and the bins the right way up, picking up all the cans that had fallen out, and put it back how it was. I managed it thankfully and it held while we had a walk this morning. Fingers crossed it does not fall down again today but I have asked boyfriend to keep an eye on it as I am out all day today and he is going to feed the boys at lunch. I will be glad when it is fixed!
