My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

Mon 8th August Blog Post 34 Equal Play

I caved again and bought them some new cat toys! I just can’t help myself. I shopped at Purrs in Hearts website and bought them another dangler wand with a feathery bird, a few more attachable feather spinners, and two catnip toys (a little fish and fluffy ball thing.) I love opening the box and watching their faces as they wait to find out what it is. The only problem is trying to share it equally. It just does not work. I try to give a toy to each of them but Leo and Charlie muscle in and just go after all of them. Jack and Tom never put up a fight and they sit there looking sad and it makes me feel so guilty. I did get the catnip toys off Leo and Charlie and gave them to Tom and Jack and they did play with them a little and did the usual catnip roll. I dangled the little bird for them trying to include everyone, but eventually, it was Charlie who seemed to be the one that liked it the most, and he has claimed it for himself now i.e. he grabs it and runs off with it. Leo prefers the wand with the feather spinners on them to jump and chase. He still makes that excited clicking sound and pants a little bit. It’s so cute. It’s a shame I can’t invent a game that would include them all playing more equally, but I don’t think that is possible. I will just have to keep trying to ensure I give them all attention when we play.
