My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

Blog Post 52 10th October   Beetle Battle and Birds

Anxiety on the walk this am. At 6 AM the birds started waking up and flying about. There were some blackbirds swooping over, and one was on the fence at the back in the corner. Tom, Jack, and Leo were all there watching, and I held on tightly to their leads in case they jumped. Jack definitely wanted to, I think, but didn’t try. They do know they are not supposed to but still…. I know they are tempted. Then a noise from the neighbor’s garden sounded like someone getting up and opening a door, and then they all ran in with their leads trailing behind them! It doesn’t take much to scare them inside, which is good as I don’t like them getting too complacent with the outdoors as it is a scary place and risks all around, although they get into trouble in the house too!
I videoed them chasing this horrible-looking insect I have seen before and been told is a Devil’s Coach Horse beetle (check out the video). It looks like a giant earwig or a small scorpion. They did not kill it in the end, but they had fun playing with it and scaring me every time they flicked it in my direction!
