My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two
January 13th Blog Post 77 Feeding Part 2
This blog post is the continuation of my neighbour’s stories:
‘Success! Charlie got on the chair, ready to leap on the worktop. I stopped opening the packets and calmly said he was very naughty and should get down and eat from the floor. He listened and came and sat by my feet! But he got impatient waiting for me to fill the bowls and jumped back in the chair. So I quickly put his bowl down before he jumped across to the worktop. But he stood by his bowl, looking at me, waiting for me to take the bowls to the others. So I told him I was not feeding the others tonight, and if he wanted something to eat, he would have to eat from his own bowl.
So he started eating, and while his head was down, I rushed the other bowls upstairs. Lured Jack off your bed and told all three to eat up before Charlie came upstairs and pinched their food. They seemed to understand, and all dived in. Then Charlie came thundering upstairs, but none of them would now give way, so Charlie had to wait for leftovers!’
After that, I got some more bowls, so they all had the same type of bowl (before Charlie and Leo had plastic bowls) to see if they preferred their ‘big boy’ bowls compared to kitten bowls.
‘Well, the new bowls seemed to have helped a bit! Charlie did start eating from one downstairs which gave me a chance to sneak upstairs to feed the other three. But it was not long before he came upstairs to see whose food he could to steal! Tom had started eating, but Leo was just doing his usual staring at the bowl, so Charlie dived straight into his. When I went back downstairs Charlie had not even finished his own bowl before going upstairs. He used to at least finish his own before looking for more elsewhere. SO looks like he is just a nosey greedy monkey who wants what anyone has LOL.’
So the ‘big boy bowls’ worked a bit, but Charlie is still terrible when it comes to feeding times, and I need to feed him quickly and then get the others theirs before he finishes his! It is a bit of a race between us! Everyone does seem to get something, though, and they are eating the dry food if they’re hungry. Charlie and Leo have certainly grown well! They are about 7kgs now, I think. Have booked Tom and Jack in for the vaccinations on 18th January, and it will be Charlie and Leo’s birthday on 12 January! More Ragdoll cat fun to write about.
