My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

Blog Post 78 20th January 2023 Flood

New Year’s Eve was not very exciting for me, but I am not one for celebrating or going out anyway. The blooming fireworks woke me up at midnight! I was not impressed. They sounded like gunfire and explosions. The poor boys were a bit confused to say the least although, thankfully, they were not distressed by it.

I had put my dishwasher on the night before, and I had run out of dishwasher tablets, so I put some Fairy Liquid in there. I don’t think that is recommended. The next morning (New Year’s day) I came downstairs with the boys following me and saw a layer of bubbles all over the kitchen floor! I realized the dishwasher must have flooded/leaked during the night. Oops. the boys happily walked all over the wet floor, getting soapy paws. Their cardboard play boxes in the kitchen had got all soaking wet, so they had to be chucked. It was probably good the boxes were there as they soaked up the water! Replaced them with some plastic boxes for now, and I am sure I will get some more big boxes soon to replace them as I am always ordering stuff online. I am scared to use the dishwasher now. Will hand-wash stuff from now on! Charlie and Leo find the pot washing interesting, as they like to sit by the sink and watch me. Let’s hope 2023 is a good year.
