My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

Blog Post 81 27 January 2023 Vet For Jabs

I took Jack and Tom to the vet last week for their annual vaccinations and weigh-in. That was a bit stressful! Had some help from neighbour as I can’t take them alone as they are so heavy in their big carrier! I think they suspected something was up even though I waited till the last minute to get the crate out. Jack was looking at it suspiciously and Tom decided to disappear upstairs. Ended up having to carry him down and put him in the crate and then eventually got Jack in after a lot of struggling and he leaped out a few times before I could get it zipped up. Leo and Charlie were looking on in fascination at the proceedings.

They yowled all the way there in the car, but when we got into the surgery, they were actually okay snuggled up together in the carrier. The vet was very handsome and he was very thorough and examined them both. Then the dreaded weigh-in! Actually, Jack had lost weight and is now 8.7kgs and Tom is about the same at 8.4kgs. I was surprised! I thought they were bigger than that. I must be getting the diet about right although, it is more likely that they are eating less because Charlie is eating everyone else’s food! They were good boys and the injections did not bother them. Leo and Charlie were pleased to see them when they got home. Later on in the evening though Jack was very upset at me as he yowled and yowled for ages which were his way of saying ‘don’t take me to the vet again please mummy!’
