My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two
14th April Blog Post 103 Vet for Leo and Charlie
Leo and Charlie were due their vaccinations last week so boyfriend helped me take them to the vet. It took some doing to get them in the baskets. I was not sure whether to take the really big one or put one in each of the smaller ones. After trying to stuff poor Charlie in the slightly smaller of the two baskets, we managed to get him in the other and fit Leo in the smaller one as he is longer and leaner. Charlie is a bit rounder! They yowled all the way there even though I was sat in the back with them trying to comfort them.
We did not have to wait long at the vet and then we went into the clinic room, and they suddenly calmed down. I struggled to get Charlie out of the basket as he stiffened up his legs and would not budge. The nice lady vet carefully scooped him up and cuddled him, and that seemed to cheer him up. She weighed him, and he is 7.8kg! Big boy. She checked his teeth they were fine. She tried to listen to his heart, but he was purring, so she gave up. She shoved the thermometer up his bum, though, he did not like that. He had his jab and was good as gold. Then we put him back and got Leo out. He was a bit nervous but I gave him lots of strokes for reassurance. She checked his teeth and managed to listen to his heart and check his temp all good. He was a brave boy too, and did not flinch when he got his jab. She weighed him, he is 7.6kg. A little slimmer than Charlie. Then we took them back, and they yowled all the way home as well! Tom and Jack were waiting for us when we got back and seemed pleased to see them.
I think it may be more challenging to take them next year when they are fully grown!
It is Tom and Jack’s birthday tomorrow, they will be three years old! They are growing up so fast!
