My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

17th April Blog post 104 Fetch

This week have been playing fetch with Charlie and Tom. They both love that game. Charlie is better at it than Tom. Tom tends to bring the toy back to you once and then doesn’t bother after that! Charlie loves it, though. Usually, when I am settling down at the laptop to do some work and then I hear this little cry, and there is Charlie sat next to me and drops one of his favourite spring coils at my feet and looking at me. So I throw it down the hallway for him. He goes charging after it, nearly slipping on the floor, and then brings it back to me in his mouth and drops it at my feet. So I pick it up and throw it again. He runs off after it and then comes trotting back to me and drops it at my feet again! I think we did this about five times before he started to get tired. Then he just brings it back to me and flops on the floor on his side, and starts batting it about with his paws. He is also quite good at catching. I get on the floor with him and then roll the toy along the floor to him, normally a spring coil or a ball. Leo will join in, too, sometimes. He then bats it with his paw and rolls it back to me! He will keep this up for a while as well, and if Leo joins in, I will roll it to him as well. He has not caught on as fast as Charlie, as he does not always roll it back to me or Charlie and just stares at it!

They are so clever, and they learn new games quickly. The other game Charlie likes is when I hide a toy under a rug or a mat (Tom used to play this, too), and then he likes to rummage around in it trying to find it. I love trying to think up new games to play with them.
