My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two
24th April Blog Post 106 Poor Jack
On Saturday, Jack had a poorly eye bless him. I used vet-recommended eye drops. I think he had a little scratch on his head as well which I suspect is from fighting with Leo on Friday. They don’t normally injure each other, but I guess sometimes they can get a bit rough with each other, and accidents happen! Saturday morning out on our walk, there was a cat sitting on the neighbour’s fence watching them! Only Tom saw it though, the rest did not seem to notice it. Tom was glaring back at it, and it ran off thankfully. I was worried about what he might do! They have never had to deal with the problem of fighting for their outside territory, and I think Ragdolls are inherently placid as regards territorial behaviour but I did not want to put that theory to the test!
As well as his poorly eye, poor Jack had terrible tummy upset on Saturday night and Sunday morning. I had to ring the vet and pick up some medicine for him (probiotic paste). Fingers crossed he seems to be on the mend today. No idea what caused it. I think he may have eaten something he shouldn’t have. The other boys were okay. I am such as anxious cat mummy, I hate it when one of them is ill. I am glad I have pet insurance that makes it less stressful financially at least. His eye is much better now as well so I think that was probably just from a biff on the eye from Leo which thankfully did not do much damage. They are a handful sometimes!
