My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

3rd July  Blog Post 126 Brave Charlie and Annoying Dogs

My neighbours whose garden is opposite mine let their annoying yappy dogs out early this morning when we were on our walk. We had only been out ten minutes and they started barking so the boys all went running back in. I left the patio door open and sat with them at the door as I was hoping they might venture out again if the dogs stopped barking. Eventually, Charlie heads back out again bold as brass. He is so brave (and foolish sometimes). Despite the barking, Charlie was determined to enjoy the garden. Tom and Leo had run upstairs. Jack sat on the dining room table watching Charlie and me. The dogs did quieten down a bit so Charlie felt a bit more confident and he was chasing moths which is his favourite game. Jack did come out for a bit as well as he needs to show he is just as brave as Charlie and even when the dogs barked again he sat there defiantly and ignored them. However, eventually, it got too much for him and he went back inside. Charlie remained outside so in the end I picked him up and brought him in. I think a bit of desensitisation is helpful so hopefully, they will get used to the barking dogs and not let it phase them. I don’t think Tom and Leo will get used to it though, as they are more delicate!
