My Ragdoll Cat Adventures Part Two

7th July Blog Post 127 Leo the Greedy Devil

The last couple of weeks, boyfriend has been trying to protect poor Tom from greedy little devil Leo. I know Charlie is usually the greedy one but Leo is catching him up in that regard. He has a fixation on Tom’s food for some reason. They all get the same food (a mixture of two different Sheba flavours). I either feed them in the kitchen or upstairs depending on where they are and how lazy they are. I put the bowls out for them all and Leo starts tucking into his. Tom comes over finds his bowl and starts eating (Charlie is normally on the worktop munching his and Jack normally only has a few bites and then wanders off.) I turn my back and do some washing up or whatever, the next minute when I check on them, Leo has abandoned his half empty bowl and has started eating Toms! He has been doing this every meal time for the past month or so and I cannot figure out why. He seems to enjoy eating Tom’s portion more than his own even though they are the same!

When boyfriend saw this happening he decided to intervene and protect Tom from Leo when I gave them their supper before bedtime. It worked the first time but the last few days Leo has managed to out-fox him and get to Tom’s bowl. It is amusing to watch him as he is standing by Tom’s bowl while he is eating and trying to stop Leo from getting to it. Leo will find a way to sneak through.

Leo never does this food-stealing trick with Jack though. Jack is the boss and Leo knows that so he never messes with him! If Leo does want Jack’s food as well then he waits patiently till Jack has finished and then dives in. Whereas Leo just pushes Tom around as Tom is so laidback, he never argues with him. He needs to stand up for himself a bit more!
