Leo and Charlie are starting to eat a little less…Maybe their appetites are reducing now they are nearly one year old. I accidentally got them the wrong sensitive cat biscuits from Amazon (a great big 8kg bag), and they don’t seem to like them much, but I will persevere because it is such as waste otherwise. They can be so picky sometimes.

I started their Scrumbles Advent calendars on 1st Dec. Charlie ate the entire (small) handful of treats the first day!

To mention a few more strange Ragdoll behaviors. Tom and Leo like to watch the water flowing from taps, and they like to drink from the jug when I pour water into the fountains. Leo loves to reach a paw onto my leg while I am in the bath to feel the water drops and I hold a flannel up, and he licks the drops of it.

Tom likes to steal my hairbands and chew them but, thankfully does not swallow them (not now anyway.)

They all like to scratch on the floor around their food bowls after eating which I have read is a throwback behaviour to predatory felines when they hide their kill (or something like that) but it is endearing and bonkers at the same time. Bit like them really.

What Is A Ragdoll Cat?

The Ragdoll cat as legend has it, was descended from Josephine a feral cat living in California in the 1960s. She was struck by a car and after she recovered, her kittens produced all the winning traits that would become the hallmark of the Ragdoll cat including large heavy build, soft downy fur, docility and laid-back personality. The original bloodlines of Ragdolls can be traced back to Ann Baker’s Ragdoll cats. It was she who developed the breed from the original Josphine. Ragdolls are beautiful, friendly, loving cats know as gentle giants of the cat world.
