My Ragdoll Cat Blog Part Two

30th Oct 2023 Blog Post 157 Cats and Laptops

I was on leave last week and it was my birthday which I will tell you about in Friday’s blog

Going back a little, last Sunday was funny. Charlie and Leo were charging about like excited children last Sunday evening when I was watching TV. Then I heard this scuffle and a crash and the sound of their food bowls being knocked over. They ran along the hallway and then went thundering upstairs. I thought ‘Oh no now what?’ I went to have a look and my laptop (thankfully not my work laptop) was on the floor by the table and the food bowls in the kitchen were all tipped over and biscuits everywhere. Tom and Jack looked at me with wide eyes. I realised what had happened, partly my fault. There are loads of cables connected to an extension lead by the dining room table for my two laptops and printer et cetera. While they were running around they must have tangled up in the cables on the floor and then dragged the laptop off the table in a panic to get free. After it crashed on the floor they got scared and ran through the kitchen knocking their bowls over. Poor Leo and Charlie, they must have thought I was angry with them as they hid upstairs for ages. I laughed and I told them it wasn’t their fault and I should not have had cables on the floor anyway. Bless them.

My work laptop was back at the hospital’s IT department for repairs last week. The fan in it had broken. When the IT man was having a look at it a few weeks ago I told him about my four cats and I said it may be the fan was full of hair. He laughed as he had a cat as well so he knew about the side-effects of cat ownership! He tried to fix the fan himself and he told me when he looked in it, it was full of cat hair! However, it still did not work when he cleaned it out so he had to get Dell out to fix it last week. I also admitted that Leo had ripped off the F and the D key as they are stuck on with tape. When I went to collect it last week he said the fan was fixed but Dell would not fix the broken keys as they were damaged by ‘misadventure’ and not wear and tear! Oh well. I will continue with the sellotaped keys then.
